A few weeks ago when I was shopping at the local craft store I spotted these letters for real cheap. I picked up all the letters to spell out "HARRISON". At first I had several different ideas on how to decorate these letters - maybe paint, or use yarn or even use scrap paper.
Being on a budget, I wanted to use all my resources without spending a dime. I had a dollar store book left over from a previous project and mod podge from the Ballard Artwork project.
Finally, I came up with using torn book pages and mod podge to decorate the letters.
:: Dollar Store Book ::
:: Mod Podge ::
:: Paper Letters ::
:: Sponge Brush ::
(Directions for one letter)
[STEP ONE] Take several book pages and rip them into small pieces...several as in atleast 50 pieces or so.
[STEP TWO] Apply Mod podge to the letter and start layering the book page pieces. Add more mod podge to the top of the scrap pieces.
[STEP THREE] Keep layering until the entire front of the letter is covered (don't forget the sides!)
Let this dry overnight.
Tie ribbon to the back and hang!
I really want to add silver glitter stars to the letters to give them a little more punch...Of course Daniel doesn't think glitter should go near a boys room. We will see how that turns out!!
